I have ordered from Dragon Palace for delivery quite a few times because the boyfriend likes their BBQ pork appetizer (A LOT, he thinks it's the best of all the pork appetizers at all the Chinese places in town, and that's pretty much all he orders: pork with white rice). Over the past two years, I have found enough items on the menu that I like enough, and I appreciate the fresh mushrooms (Rising Sun uses canned. ACK!). I have a tattered menu on which I mark off the items I've tried. (EX: Crab Rangoon=bad cuz they have some onion in them and I don't like that. Pot stickers=AWFUL, Yu Shiang Chicken, starred, but order without water chestnuts, chicken fried rice=yum.) I have learned that the things I like the best are spicy: Hunan, Kung Bao, Yu Shiang --all terrific. The chop suey and lo mein are crossed off, not as bad really, just boring. This explains the wide variance, I think, in ratings I see on Yelp of this place--the items that are tasty are really tasty, the ones that are bad are so, so bad (like the pot stickers and the scrambled eggs with beef). Their delivery is usually really fast, but last night, a Friday, it took an hour! I didn't think it would be hot after all that time, but it was. And last night's food was all delicious. (Hunan chicken, BBQ pork [of course], chicken fried rice, and veggie egg roll). My advice: If you order from Dragon Palace, go spicy.

Never again. I stopped in here to get a side of white rice and a side of egg drop soup. I waited for 26 minutes. This is ridiculous for two pre-prepared items. Not to mention the cashier was clearly sick and hacking coughing all over. Never again.

Wanted to give this place 2 Stars, but alas after my lunch companion and I both had stomach issues after, I think not. The wings were undercooked and the breading had an unpleasant ginger flavor. The hot and sour soup was underwhelming and not impressive. The egg rolls, oh that's right, they forgot to include the egg rolls in the take out bag. That leads to the fun conversation with the not so pleasant counter help, who offered a credit towards our next order. That would be fine except he hung up before we could confirm our information with him to get the credit. All in all, this will not be a repeat performance on our part ;(

There are a lot of options to pick from. Prices are pretty cheap and reasonable compared to other places. Must try their noodle dishes and egg rolls and smoothies, especially milk tea!!!.A nice and quiet place to dine in also. Staffs are friendly also.

I have not been here for a long time, I was not impressed the last time I was, but some friends told me the food was fantastic, so I thought why not try it again, Sorry to be disappointing but the food is OK, nothing fantastic just OK, the egg rolls were very dry, I had the chop suey, it was OK, they do give you a lot, for your money, about 7 bucks for a large dinner, And they now have indoor seating for those that want to stay and eat. The only problem was as nice as the lady was that took my order, she was very hard to understand

I'm glad some people had a good experience with this place... mine was not so great. The food was just about the worst Chinese food I have experienced. I'm glad Moe's came to town.

There aren't too many Chinese restaurants in New Lenox....so I pretty much tried all of them. I like this place bec I think their fried rice is not greasy @ all & dishes we've ordered with vegetables are made very fresh. People do have to remember that not all "Chinese food" is cooked the same bec it depends on what province in China the chef is from. I do like the way they cook their food here & it's not too salty either. They have a great lunch special menu as well. Plenty of food. Try their Governor's Chicken....I think it's the best in the area! My husband on the other hand does not like em as much as I do. He prefers the Chinese restaurant across from Jewel. :)

This place is horrible! I placed an order on a Friday night and 2 hrs later it still wasn't here. When I called they recited the wrong address back for delivery. Never ordering again.

I like their food. The service is always friendly though sometimes slow. They give you ample portions for your money. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in New Lenox

Dragon Palace has the best lunch specials of any Chinese restaurant in the area. For about $5, you get enough food to easily make two meals (entree, generous amount of fried rice, egg roll, can of pop, and a fortune cookie). Dragon Palace accepts credit cards, but they do ask that you pay cash for orders under $10 in order to keeps costs down. Service is always fast and friendly, and they now take orders online: dragonpalace2.com

I truly miss this place and make it a point to order at least once when I visit my family when I'm in from Colorado. This place has my ABSOLUTELY favorite crab rangoon. Typical menu for a Chinese Restaurant and they don't make a fuss over alterations to their menu. Take out and delivery only.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
